When I have the chance, I'm bringing spears to Minneapolis so I can document some of the different spear styles my dad is creating. This one is unique because of the square tines. It also has the Japanese Patina finish and a long handle. The wood burning details include burned knurls in the grip area of the handle.

Brette's Spear - 2012
Since I had the camera out, I decided to take some pictures of my spear.
Dad made three spears for Christmas 2012 and gave one to each of us boys. This spear has the same basic design as the ALS Spear - five-tine wishbone design. Because of the building process and the materials, no two spears are the same.
The handles and paint scheme are the most likely thing to change as dad has new ideas or gets a new tool (turning lathe, wood burning kit, etc.). The handle on this spear was turned and then torched to give it the black highlights and to bring out the oak grain.
